BODEGA (corner store)

I love this place for more reasons than tacos. Bodega gets it right!

The food. The ambiance. The great service. The space. The margaritas. The GUAC!

And, reasonable prices.

I mean, what keeps you coming back to your favorite restaurant? Exactly.

My favorite part of this restaurant is their sign above the kitchen defining what Bodega means: “Hispanic/Spanish/Latin mini mart, kind of like 7-11, but usually smaller and more like a liquor store atmosphere. Commonly used term on the east coast, especially in the New York City region, where you will find many of these. The word came from the actual Spanish word for “grocery store”- in la bodega.”

As soon as you sit down, they ask you if you want guacamole and I don’t think anyone says no, which I find kind of smart on their part. It’s so good, I don’t mind this at all.

Their endless options of tacos are outstanding, $4 bucks each by the way. I’ve had so many dishes here it is hard to keep track.

This right here are their Argentino / hanger steak asada, charred onion, salsa de chili de arbol, cilantro tacos! So tasty! My other favorites include their blistered Brussel sprouts, bodega grilled corn on the cob, and platanos con crema.

Please visit one of their two locations in Fairfield or Darien, Connecticut. But, if you want them to go to you, they have a TACO TRUCK and can totally make that happen, just sayin’.
